Hey guys, as promised in the comments, it's time for an update.
If you're reading the comments you'll know that we had a minor problem with the new ballbearing bezels recently, which looks to be resolved. One of the upgrades I agreed to when the campaign exploded was to switch from the old-fashioned click style bezel to a more modern (and nicer feeling) ballbearing one. It's the first time I'd ever done one on my projects, so it took a little longer than I wanted to get perfect. That's one of the issues with doing "stretch goals"/upgrades on a kickstarter project - you're offering to do things that weren't done on the prototypes so you have to get them right during production which is nerve-racking.
I'm aware we're running behind. Scaling my usual order size (around 300 watches is my usual production run for previous projects) to 2000 this time was a bigger job than I expected. There's nothing I can do about that other than apologise. I really didn't expect to sell so many - this is by far my biggest ever production run and I'm doing my best to get them out without cutting corners. For example I could have ignored the ballbearing bezel imperfection, they worked. But I didn't want a load of loose-bezelled watches out there.
Anyway here are a few photos sent through from the factory. Some with the bezel in place and awaiting their insert, others all boxed up and ready to go. I've asked for more in other colours but these are the ones he sent last night and I wanted to get the update out.
We're nearly there, I'm chasing every day and will do another update shortly.
FYI I get quite a few emails every day saying I've gone silent. I'm active in the Kickstarter comments section almost every day, and also on the support forum over at thewatchtribe.com. You're welcome to just wait for the formal updates, but if you're ever worried that I don't seem to be around just drop in to either of those, I'm always here :)
